Students Exchange written by Artur

On the 27^th of March at 12.30 AM our quests arrived in Kanepi. It was a cold night and everyone was complaining about it. The quests met the families hosting them and got to know each other. I hosted Alessandro Testa who is a funny and cool guy. He is a DJ, he likes playing football and video games. His dad is an engineer and his mom is a municipal worker. After the families met the quests they went home. On the drive home I gave him some information about the local area. At home we went to sleep immediately because it was very late.

The next day we went to Räpina for some activities. We arrived in Räpina and everyone was assigned to their work rooms. Me and Alessandro went to ceramics and started working.

After ceramics we got a tour of the manor house.


When that was done we went to eat in a pub. Then we visited a paper factory. The day in Räpina was over and all of us left for home. At home me and Alessandro played video games and watched TV. We also talked a lot about our families and countries.

Because we spent the weekend together my friend Tarmo will write about Saturday.

On Sunday morning it was hard for me to get up. I was very sleepy. I went upstairs to wake up Alessandro but he was already awake. We went downstairs to eat breakfast. We talked about the coming day. The plan was to meet with Tarmo and Gabriele at Lõunakeskus shopping centre in Tartu. Once we met we wandered around in the shopping centre, visiting electronic stores and some clothes stores. We also went to see a movie in a 4D cinema which was very cool in my opinion. After visiting the shopping centre we went to Raekoja Plats. There we visited a souvenir shop, showed our quests Tartu University and other places. Then we went to the place that I was most excited for – Ahhaa science centre. There we met with the other students that took part in the exchange. Some of them had been celebrating Koit’s birthday and they had gotten home at like 5 AM. It must have been a hard morning for them. In Ahhaa there was much to do and thus it took a few hours. After that we went to eat at Ränduri pub. In my opinion the food there was very good. Me, Tarmo and Gabriele ordered the same food but I think there was a mistake as Gabriele got a completely different meal. Also we waited a long time for the waiter. We had much time to talk about stuff. We explained to them what some of the words meant. When everyone had eaten we headed to Otepää to see the ski jump. We also bought some pizza. After that we went home. At home we watched a movie and played some video games.

On Monday we had school. We had physics, Estonian and maths. In physics we wrote some formulas and did some tasks. 

In the lesson

There was also a football match between Estonians and Italians later. We all thought that the Italians would win easily but to everyone’s surprise we actually won. But in my opinion it was not a fair game because our team made many fouls. After the game we went home and then to a party that was being held in the school. At the party there was dancing, music and some kind of obstacle course. Everyone was sad when it ended because it was the last night. Me, Tarmo, Alessandro and Gabriele were all outside waiting for pickup and we were talking about some stuff. Alessandro and Gabriele acted a bit more different than they usually did. I was puzzled but also they were very funny. I actually thought that they were drunk or something. It got to a point where all of us were dying of laughter. But our quests wanted to remember their last night here as funny and happy and that is the reason they were acting differently.

Tuesday was a bit sad because our quests left that day. We went to Kanepi and everyone was there saying goodbye. Some even cried. We said goodbye to almost everyone and I even shook hands with the cool Kung Fu dude
